Just a few hours from Bejing on the Tibetan Plateau is the 6th Qinghai Tibet Carpet Exhibition, June 20-23 in Qinghai, China. This exhibition offers valuable direct-import pricing focusing on Tibetan hand knotted carpets. Carpets from Iran, Pakistan, Nepal, India and Afghanistan will also be displayed in this modern 15,000 square meter convention center located in Xining, the capital of Qinghai province.
Xining is also near the famous Tibetan Buddhist monastery of Ta'er Lamasery. There will be many educational events that include tours to weaving centers, monasteries and Tibetan performances. Cultural handicrafts will also be on sale at the exhibition. This is a show that should not be missed. I have attached a few photographs to show you some of the wonders of this area.
This will be my fourth trip into this fascinating region and will be filming and photographing again the rug making process, the people and Tibetan monasteries. My filming first trip was as a guest of Jim Clardy of 828.

One goal for this trip is to reach the Tibetan capital of Lhassa by the new fast train that travels over 16,000 feet in an air compressed compartment.
